The ingredients needed to make functional products are not found or needed in skincare so I asked Amy, owner at High End Hippie to explain all the ingredients found in the bars she makes.

All our ingredients used are biodegradable, clean, and free from harsh sulfates, silicones, synthetic fragrances, and parabens. The botanical extracts and essential oils are organically farmed, ensuring a clean and sustainable approach to hair care. Each formula is crafted to be gentle on the scalp while delivering high-performance results for healthier, stronger hair.
Ingredient Breakdown:
Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate – A mild, coconut-derived cleanser that effectively removes dirt and oil without stripping the hair. Gentle and biodegradable.
Decyl Glucoside – A plant-derived surfactant that gently cleanses while maintaining moisture balance. Safe and biodegradable.
Cetyl Alcohol – A fatty alcohol from sustainably sourced palm that conditions and softens hair while adding a smooth texture. Non-drying and safe for regular use.
Behentrimonium Methosulfate – A mild, non-irritating conditioning agent that detangles, reduces frizz, and improves manageability. Derived from colza oil, from the seeds of the rapeseed plant.
Glycerine – A humectant that draws moisture to the hair and scalp, preventing dryness.
Cocos Nucifera Oil (Coconut Oil) – Strengthens hair strands, and reduces protein loss.
Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter (Cocoa Butter) - Provides deep nourishment, enhances shine, and protects against environmental damage.
Argania spinosa kernel oil (Argan Oil) – Rich in antioxidants and fatty acids, restores moisture and elasticity to dry, damaged hair.
Prunus armeniaca Kernel Oil (Apricot Oil) – Lightweight and rich in vitamins A & E, enhances scalp health and adds shine.
Lavandula angustifolia (Lavender Oil & Extract) – Soothes scalp irritation, promotes hair growth, and has antimicrobial properties.
Mentha arvensis leaf (Peppermint Oil) – Stimulates circulation, refreshes the scalp, and promotes hair growth.
